Wood-Fired Pizza Night Rescheduled and Farm Tour this Saturday
May 22nd, 2024
We hope you are faring well after the storm last week! Due to the severe weather, we rescheduled our Wood-Fired Pizza Night to next Friday, May 31st, at 6pm. If you’ve already purchased a ticket, there’s no need to do anything further than show up on the 31st ready to dine on farm-inspired pizza! If you purchased a ticket and are not able to make the new date, we will be offering a full refund. Haven’t bought a ticket yet? What are you waiting for?! Snag a spot for this culinary event sooner rather than later as spots are limited. Tickets will be on sale until 11:59pm on May 30th. If you’re a Harvest Green resident, make sure to reach out to us or the folks over at The Farmhouse for a special discount. Tickets can be purchased here.
Join us for our monthly Farm Tour this Saturday, May 25th from 10-11am. We’ll be exploring (and sampling!) all of the tomato varieties we’re growing this season in both the tunnel and the field. You’ll get to see the fascinating lower and lean method we’re using with our tunnel tomatoes in addition to a sneak peek of all of the produce that will be coming into season for summer. Our Farm Tours are open to the public and free of charge. Make sure to sign up here if you plan on joining us!
We harvested over 200 pounds of potatoes this week! Since potatoes typically don’t grow well in the clay-heavy soil in the field, we grow them in our boxes to take advantage of the loamier soil. This also makes harvesting much easier! We grew two different varieties this year: Red Norland (left) and Yukon Gold (right). All of the potatoes are currently curing to help toughen up their skins and give them a longer shelf life. If you’re one of our Veggie Share members, you’ll be able to add them to your shares in the next couple of weeks!
