The First Ripe Tomatoes and a Special Earth Day Market this Saturday
April 19th, 2023
We are incredibly excited to report that our Sungold tomatoes are beginning to ripen! This community favorite has golden orange flesh and an intense sweet flavor. Over the last couple of years we’ve made the first harvest around the beginning of May so these are a wonderful early treat! Since we’re just starting to harvest these tomatoes, we won’t have them available to purchase at the Farm Stand yet, but you can try them at the tasting tent on Saturday during our Earth Day Market.
Don’t forget that our special Earth Day Market is coming up this Saturday, April 22nd, from 9am-noon! In addition to shopping for local goods from our market vendors, we will also have:
Clean up the Creek, 9 - 10am: Help beautify the farm’s habitat by participating in a litter pick-up along the creek
Veggie Tasting Tent, 10 - 11am: For new veggie lovers or long-standing connoisseurs, you can pop by our tasting tent to try the first tomatoes of the season!
Newspaper Pots, 11am-noon: Before you leave, make sure to stop by the potting station where you’ll be able to upcycle newspaper into a seedling pot (like you see at the bottom of the post) and plant it with zucchini or basil.
These events are open to the public and free of charge. We can’t wait to celebrate Earth Day with you!
