Special Holiday Farm Stand on Tuesday and Fig Planting Day this Saturday
November 16th, 2023
We’ll have a special Thanksgiving treat for you next week: the very first cauliflower of the season! You’ll be able to pick some up along with a robust assortment of fall produce at our special Farm Stand on Tuesday, November 21st from 4-6pm at The Farmhouse. We’ll also have roselle pods (pictured below) so that you can make a locally sourced version of cranberry sauce! Scroll to the bottom of this post for a full list of what we’ll have available. This special Farm Stand is open to the public and is the only chance you’ll have to snag some veggies from us next week. We’d love to see you!
Are you ready for the Fig Orchard Planting Day this Saturday?! This fun volunteer opportunity provides a great way to leave your mark on the Harvest Green community while helping us establish our new fig orchard. We’ll be supplying all of the tools you’ll need plus plenty of refreshments to keep your energy up. This event takes place this Saturday, November 18th from 9am-noon and is open to the public. We request that you sign up here so that we have an accurate headcount for tools and refreshments. Everyone that signs up will receive detailed instructions regarding where to meet.
Remember the baby spinach we sowed in the caterpillar tunnel? Look how much it has grown over the past week! This is the row that was planted thickly with the intention of harvesting during its baby stage. We also have an additional half row planted in the caterpillar tunnel and a full row in the field that will be harvested as larger leaves. Spinach is one of our favorite cool season crops because it’s incredibly versatile and has a lovely mild flavor. We should have some baby spinach for you in the next few weeks so keep an eye out!
