Preparing for the Fall Kickoff on October 5th

We would like to officially invite you to join us in celebrating the arrival of the fall season at our Fall Season Kickoff at the Farmers Market on Saturday, October 5th from 9am-1pm! In addition to the organic produce at our Veggie Wagon and local vendors, you’ll have the opportunity to visit with our goats and chickens and buy some plants for your cool season garden. Attendees will also be able to play our Farm Game which is accompanied by fun prizes like packets of seeds, pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, and snacks to feed our animals. Make sure to round out this day of fall fun by posing in our pumpkin patch photo op and romping around in the pumpkin bounce house. This event is open to the public and free of charge so we hope to see you there!

Farm Club Member Spotlight

We are honored to introduce you to one of our dedicated Farm Club members, Mike! He decided to settle in the Harvest Green community due to all of the agricultural amenities and ended up joining Farm Club back in 2019. He loves the infrastructure Farm Club provides in addition to the comradery with the other members and the ability to grow seeds in the greenhouse for his plot. The most interesting thing he has learned as a member is the impact that Mother Nature has on the process of growing food which has allowed him to cultivate a deeper appreciation for fellow farmers and gardeners. The first taste of fall will be available at the Farm Stand this weekend: arugula and radishes! These first fall crops offer an exciting preview of what’s to come as the days eventually grow cooler. Both arugula and radishes lend a distinct peppery flavor to dishes and can be enjoyed raw and cooked. One of our favorite ways to enjoy both of these veggies at the same time is in a baguette sandwich along with brie, prosciutto, and quince or fig jam.
