Pizza and a Movie Event Tonight on the Farm!

December 20th, 2024

We are gearing up for our Pizza and Movie event tonight (Friday, December 20th)! This resident-only event does not require tickets. Residents will be able to stop by the farm to purchase pizzas between 5-7pm while supplies last. You’ll have the choice of the following pizzas: Cheese, Pepperoni, The Garden (veggie), and The Barnyard (veggies and pepperoni). You are invited to stay and enjoy your pizza on the farm along with our holiday movie that begins at 6:30pm. Or, you can take your pizza to-go and dine at home. As a reminder, this is a resident-only event that does not require a ticket but pizzas are available while supplies last and cost $15 for one pizza or $25 for two.

Sugar snap peas are in season at the Farm Stand! While peas are typically grown in the spring, the protection our tunnels provide allows us to grow a succession during the fall/winter. Sugar snap peas have an edible seed pod unlike standard shelling peas and can be eaten both raw and cooked. Paired with our carrots, they make the perfect crudité for enjoying alongside your favorite dips. Or, you can give them a quick sauté in olive oil and season them with salt, pepper, and lemon zest for an easy side dish.

Vibrant heads of Roxy Red Butterhead lettuce will be available at the Farm Stand this weekend. These are the first of many heads to come! This butterhead variety has tender, glossy leaves and a bright green heart. In addition to being great in salads, they make the perfect addition to BLTs and burgers. Or, you can use them for lettuce wraps. Here’s a recipe if you’d like to try it at home.

  • Pizza and a Movie at Village Farm: Friday, December 20th from 6-9pm (resident only event; pizza orders are from 5-7pm and movie begins at 6:30pm)
