Neill Elementary’s Harvest of the Month Program
December 14th, 2022
Over the past few months we’ve provided our organic produce to the Harvest of the Month Program at Neill Elementary! This program, observed throughout all of the elementary schools in Fort Bend ISD, features a different vegetable or fruit each month. In October we supplied them with radishes to try and in November they received dinosaur kale (pictured above) to munch on. In addition to sharing the farm's veggies, the Farm Team also had the amazing opportunity of participating in Neill's Career Day where the students were super excited to talk about what it's like to be a professional farmer. We love connecting kids with the farm and fresh veggies, and look forward to working with Neill more in the new year!
Our last farmers market of the year is this Saturday, December 17th! It will be held from 11am-2pm on the farm so that it coincides with the Woodland Wonderland. This resident-only event offered by the Harvest Green Lifestyle Team will include pictures with Santa, hot chocolate, axe-throwing, and real snow! Residents can sign up for the Woodland Wonderland here. Non-residents are more than welcome to join us and shop from our awesome lineup of local vendors like Jeremiah’s Bakery, Texas Farmhouse Beef, and Gleaux Fresh Skin!
Due to the holidays, we will not have a farmers market or farm stand on Saturday, December 24th or 31st. In order to make sure you have access to our delicious organic produce, we will have two special holiday farm stands! These holiday farm stands will take place on Wednesday, December 21st and 28th from 4-6pm and will be held at The Farmhouse in the Harvest Green Community. Both residents and non-residents are encouraged to stop by and stock up for your holiday cooking and baking! The Farmhouse is located at 3400 Harvest Corner Drive here in Richmond.
