Our Fig Orchard Beautification Day is nearly here! Twice a year in spring and fall we invite the community to come volunteer with us as we beautify the fig orchard. Your next opportunity to take part is this Saturday, April 5th, from 9am-noon. This volunteer activity involves weeding and applying a fresh layer of mulch around our fig trees. We will be supplying all snacks, water, and tools but we recommend bringing your own pair of work gloves to protect your hands. Fig Day is open to the public but we request that you sign up here if you plan on attending so that we can ensure we have enough supplies available. See you soon!Â

During the Farmers Market on Saturday, April 12th, you’ll have the opportunity to stroll through an array of independent authors and book vendors at the Indie Book Fair. We invite you to come look for your next favorite read while you stock up on farm-fresh goodies from 9am-1pm. In addition to the Indie Book Fair, the Paper Shred Truck will be on site offering safe and confidential shredding services for your old documents. Simply drive through and drop off your papers - with no limit and no need to remove paper clips - before heading over to the market. Both of these events are open to the public, free of charge, and take place at our weekly Farmers Market.Â

We are excited to share that zucchini will be making its way back into season in the next couple of weeks! Since zucchini and most other summer squashes are fairly quick growers, they are often among the first spring vegetables to make their way into season. Since we are just seeing the first small fruits on our zucchini plants in the tunnel, it will most likely be a couple of weeks before we have a sizable harvest to share with you at the Farm Stand. You can also expect to see yellow squash and patty pan squash making their way back into season shortly after zucchini. We hope you’re ready for them!Â
