Fall Season Kickoff This Saturday

September 28th, 2023

Don’t forget to join us for our Fall Season Kickoff this Saturday, September 30th, at the Farmers Market! Come celebrate the arrival of the fall growing season with us by starting some seedlings for your home garden, visiting with our goats and chickens, and taking a tour of the farm. Plus, the Harvest Green Lifestyle team will have a bounce house and face painter on site! This event takes place from 9am-1pm and is open to the public. If you’d like to go on our Farm Tour, it runs from 10-11am. We hope to see you there!

If you’re able to make it to our Farm Tour this Saturday, you’ll be able to see something very exciting: the site of our new caterpillar tunnel! This tunnel will be a protected greenhouse growing space that will allow us to grow crops that are more cold and frost sensitive. The pad you see above was cleared and tarped last summer to eradicate weeds. Before we erect the frame, we’ll be building up the beds and amending the soil. We’re excited to share more about this project with you over the next few weeks!

Are you interested in growing vegetables in your home garden this fall and winter? Join us for our Seasonal Gardening Series: Cool Season Edition on the farm on Saturday, October 14th from 10-11am. This beginner level class led by Farmer Nathan will cover the October-March growing season. We’ll discuss what you can grow in your garden this season and when you can plant specific varieties. Participants will be able to take part in a hands-on activity and take home cool season gardening guide resources. This class is open to both the public and Harvest Green residents. Make sure to secure your spot here!
